Product description
The dress is based on clothing fragments from the ninth and tenth century found at archaeological excavations in Birka, Skjoldehamm and Hedeby. It is particularly well-suited to re-enacting or LARPing a Viking girl.
This comfortable dress is crafted from sturdy cotton, which is also suitable for wearing in early spring and autumn. A cotton belt is included. The dress consists of two contrasting colours of red, which creates a beautiful effect. The hem of the underskirt, the belt, the neckline and the hems of the sleeves are constructed from a dark shade of red.
The finish of this dress appears completely historical. The skirt features an extra strip of fabric (gores) in the middle at the front and back. In the Middle Ages, these strips were sewn into the skirt so that it fell wide rather than straight down.
