The relief is crafted after graffiti from Pompeii. The graffiti depicts two gladiators with their names, and is presumably the work of an enthusiastic viewer of the games. The relief depicts the freed secutor (Servus), who won thirteen times but was killed during the games, and the freed Retarius (Alban), who won nineteen times. "Severus libertus victoriam Perrit XIII Albanus Sauri libertus victoriam XIX vicit".

The relief is constructed from terracotta and measures 19 x 17 cm. The original remains depicted upon a wall in the Roman city of Pompeii.
