Product description

This hauberk is made of 1,8 mm wide flat rings with an inner diameter of 8 mm. The rings are woven four in one and subsequently riveted with wedge rivets. The hauberk has mid-length sleeves and reaches just over the hip.

Chainmail shirts like these were worn from the second half of the 14th century. From this period, chainmail shirts and parts with wedge-shaped rivets increasingly replaced chainmail with round rivets.

This type of chainmail shirt was called the haubergeon, a diminutive form of the longer chainmail hauberk. Haubergeons weighed less and offered more freedom of movement. They were worn under armor until the 16th century.

It is available in the sizes M, L and XL.The chest circumference is measured including a gambeson (subarmalis).
