Product description
The Agincourt hand-and-a-half sword is an agile, light, fast and slender weapon. The weight and length render the sword effective enough on its own, but in combination with a buckler or shield it is even more dangerous. Originally, swords of this type were employed by English longbowmen and knights during the Battle of Agincourt (1415). The agility and versatility of this hand-and-a-half sword, combined with its utility, make it a fine combat sword, well-suited to cutting tests. Constructed from 1065 carbon steel with a blued patina, it is well protected against the rust and staining that are so common from exposure to the elements. It features an extra wide tang and is tempered to a hardness of approx. 50 HRC.
The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers and axes has been designed in collaboration with John Clements. John possesses unsurpassed knowledge of historical fencing and medieval and Renaissance fighting methods. All items are hand-forged by the forgery of Windlass Steelcrafts from high quality 1065 tempered carbon steel and are strong and resilient. The swords feature an extra wide full tang and all weapons are sharp and well-suited to cutting tests.
Each model has been put through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle-tested weapons carry a patinated finish which renders them even more authentic and historical in appearance. Each weapon is individually inspected at every step of the manufacturing process, and only upon passing inspection does it receive the blacksmith's mark on the blade. Each weapon is dispatched with a certificate, signed by all craftsmen who have worked on the weapon. Also included is a matching scabbard and, if applicable, a swordfrog.
