Product description
The sword is crafted by Hanwei after a 13th-century original excavated at the River Witham near Lincoln. The original may be seen at the British Museum and was presumably forged between 1250 and 1350. The sword is decorated in the Romanesque art style and is known for its inscription that has never been deciphered. Similar swords are still being excavated in Great Britain, Germany and The Netherlands. The sword bears the inscription +NDXOXCHMDRCHDXORVI+ on one side of the blade, which possibly refers to a personal motto or a biblical text.
This replica is razor sharp, just as the originals were. It is well-suited to cutting tests.
