Short chainmail coats like this were already worn in the early Middle Ages, including by the Vikings, and remained in use until the 11th century. In the second half of the 14th century this type returned under the name haubergeon — a diminutive of hauberk, or long chainmail shirt. A haubergeon offers the same protection as a full haubergeon, but with more freedom of movement, and was therefore ideal to wear under a harness.
This haubergeon is made of steel, round rings - round rivets, ring diameter 10 mm. Harness parts can easily be attached to the shoulders and arms with leather laces; You can also tighten the sleeves around the arm and elbow with laces for less play and more freedom of movement.
Suitable for re-enactment and HEMA, can be worn separately or under a harness — and a practical one basic for those who build a complete chain mail armor.
