Product description
Long mail shirts like this one, also called hauberk, were worn from the 11th century and have a slit. This split gives extra freedom of movement and comfort on horseback; 11th and 12th century images almost always show knights with a hauberk with a split. From the 12th to the 14th century, hauberks were worn both with and without a slit.
This hauberk is made from steel, round rings - round rivets, ring diameter 10 mm. With leather laces you can easily attach a chain mail coif or other harness parts to the hauberk, and you can also tighten the sleeves around the arm and elbow for less slack.
A sturdy one basic for a complete chainmail armor, suitable for reenactment and HEMA — both for full view and for use under plate armor.
