Let's be honest, padded fencing jackets take up a great deal of space in your gear bag! Moreover, they often provide more protection than necessary in situations where that level of protection isn't required. Over the years, we've seen numerous people augment their jumpers and hoodies with forearm, elbow, and throat protection for light sparring. Well, now you don't have to! Our stylish Light Sparring Hoodies feature integrated foam pads on the shoulders/upper arms and elbows/forearms. These pads can be removed for washing or when you simply don't need the protection they provide. The collar has a blade catcher and an integrated plastic throat protector with foam padding to absorb impact. It is securely fastened with Velcro and is also removable. The long zip is reinforced with a popper at the top and bottom, and the hood can also be unzipped and removed if necessary. The hoodies have reinforced elbow patches and zip pockets. This item is not puncture-proof and does not carry a Newton rating. The hoodie has been designed for light, controlled sparring and should not be utilised for full-contact or steel weapons.
