The Red Dragon HEMA Light Sparring Jacket has been designed specifically for HEMA and is crafted from heavy-duty cotton with a 350N rating, featuring an inner lining. This sparring jacket carries less padding than the standard HEMA Sparring Jacket and is better suited to one-handed weapons such as the rapier and sabre. No padding is included on the back, as effective strikes to this area are rare, particularly with rapiers and sabres. This construction renders the jacket lighter and more breathable. The inside of the arms is likewise unpadded, reducing the overall weight further. The padded collar incorporates a blade catcher to help protect against accidental thrusts that might slip beneath the fencing mask bib. At the rear of the jacket, an adjustable webbing strap with Velcro attachment permits the waist to be tightened for a more streamlined fit.
