Product description

This rapier was designed for HEMA, historical European Martial arts. The rapier, a slender and pointed type of sword, originated in 16th-century Europe and reached its peak during the Renaissance. This elegant weapon was often the choice of noblemen and became known for its agility and precision in the era of dueling and sword fighting. Compared to swords from earlier periods, the rapier has a hilt with finger rings and a knuckle guard which makes combat with the rapier very different than combat with the federschwert. This rapier has a blade with medium flexibility. This is the most common type of blade used for HEMA tournaments. The blade can have a maximum pressure of 11 to 12 kg. This pressure is considered safe at most HEMA tournaments. The tip has a thickening for extra safety.
