The replica is entirely based on archaeological finds. It is handmade on the potter's wheel and glazed. Crafted from ochery clay and well-suited to food consumption. It has a height of 5 cm and a diameter of approx. 16 cm.
Greenware is pottery with a green glazed layer across the complete surface or parts thereof. This type of pottery was already in use around the 13th century, principally on the British Isles. In the 14th century, 10 to 20% of all the pottery utilised in London consisted of greenware. On the mainland of Europe, greenware's popularity increased from the 15th century onward.
