This chaperon is inspired by 14th and 15th century European headgear, also known as a gugel. This practical and stylish model was worn by both commoners and nobles, for protection and as a fashion accessory. Made from a wool blend (70% wool, 30% other), the chaperon offers warmth and comfort thanks to the natural insulation of wool, while the blend ensures durability and reduced shrinkage. This color version is made in red.
The chaperon has a shoulder cape and a long, trailing tail (lyre pipe) - in the late Middle Ages both functional and a status symbol, to be worn wrapped around the neck or hanging loose. Antique brass buttons along the front give the chaperon a refined, historic look with a simple closure. Available in sizes S/M, L/XL and 2XL/3XL.
