The Francisca axe was a throwing axe that was mainly used by the Franks and other Germanic tribes. This axe is made after an 8th century original found in South England. Nowadays it is part of the collection of the British Museum in London.
The length of this Francisca axe is 81 cm and it has a hand-forged axehead of iron with a maximum length of 24 cm. It weighs 1,6 kg, the blade is delivered sharpened.
