Product description
Bracelets of this type were worn by Germanic chieftains from the 4th century AD. Such bracelets served as a symbol of status within the Germanic tribe. Originally, these bracelets were crafted from solid gold. A 5th-century original has been excavated in the Belgian town of Doornik, from the grave of the French king Childeric.
The bracelet measures 7 x 5 cm and is 0.8 cm thick. Completely hand-beaten, each item bears its own distinctive pattern. It has an inner diameter of 14 to 17 cm.
