Product description
The spatha is a replica of an original from the 4th century AD, now held in the collection of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn. The sword was probably employed by a Germanic auxiliary in service of the Roman legions.
The spatha is 93 cm long, with a blade of 70 cm long and 4.8 cm wide. The blade features two fullers to reduce its weight. The hilt is crafted from bone, as with the original. The sword comes with a wooden scabbard, covered with black leather and decorated with brass ornaments. The scabbard has been constructed after parts found in Rhineland. The sword weighs 1.7 kg.
