The Mempo was a type of face protection traditionally worn by samurai in feudal Japan. The leather Mempo is a particularly well-suited accessory for a samurai, ninja or assassin outfit, or for various LARP outfits such as post-apocalyptic or Asian characters.
The leather half mask extends from the nose to the chin. At the mouth it has four slits, which permit proper breathing and prevent heat from building up beneath the mask. It may be fastened behind the head with leather straps.
