Product description
The Roman subarmalis is a replica of originals depicted on various Roman sculptures. The subarmalis was worn beneath the Lorica hamata and Lorica segmentata, though on sculptures it is most frequently depicted beneath the musculata. The musculata was typically worn by great Roman generals and emperors. Crafted from 2–3 mm thick leather, the subarmalis displays the characteristic leather pteruges (fringes) visible beneath the plate armour. It is fully functional and may be adjusted to the correct size.
