Product description
The lituus is an Etruscan-Italic musical instrument. It was employed by the Roman tribes as early as the Monarch Period, and was later utilised in the Roman legions as the signal instrument of the principes. The lituus was also played during religious ceremonies.
This replica has been crafted from brass after two finds near Saalburg, which date from the 2nd century AD.
The lituus is playable and is delivered complete with a mouthpiece. Its length is 100 cm and it weighs 0.8 kg.
