The tunic is based on items of clothing worn during the early Middle Ages by Vikings and other peoples in northwest Europe. It is also well-suited to medieval reenactment on account of its universal design. The tunic may be worn on its own or combined with an undertunic during colder weather. This long Viking tunic reaches to the knees. It features a V-neck and a slit on the front and back for ultimate wearing comfort during battles and similar activities. The tunic may be combined with a belt for a better fit, or shortened by draping part of the fabric over it. During the early Middle Ages, all manner of objects were worn on the belt, amongst them bags, knives, axes, and the like.
