The lorica hamata is a replica of an example from the 1st century AD. Mail shirts of this type were worn by Roman legionaries from the 2nd century BC to the 3rd century AD.
The mail shirt is constructed from 1 mm thick, flattened steel rings with an inner diameter of 8 mm. The lorica hamata is supplied complete with a shoulder piece finished with a leather trim.
