Product description
The lorica segmentata is a replica of the earliest type of lorica segmentata, the Kalkriese type. The original was possibly worn in 9 AD at the battle in the Teutoburger Forest. Parts of similar loricae were found, amongst other locations, in Velsen (The Netherlands), where in 28 AD a great battle was fought.
The lorica segmentata is constructed from 1.3 mm thick steel and ornamented with brass. It may be fastened with leather straps across the chest. The lorica segmentata can be adjusted to the correct size and is well-suited to a chest circumference of up to 120 cm. It weighs approximately 7 kg.
