Product description
The lunula amulet is a replica of a 10th-century original, excavated in the region of the Kievan Rus. Amongst the Slavic peoples, the tradition of wearing lunula amulets was passed on to the Vikings of the Baltic Sea region around the 10th century. Long before this period, lunula amulets had been worn by the Germanic tribes, a tradition that was subsequently adopted by the Romans. Lunula amulets were worn primarily by women and girls, and symbolised protection.
