Product description
The seax is well-suited to use as a working knife or fighting knife — a solid weapon with excellent balance. The seax is a classic replica of a Viking seax. Amongst the Vikings, the seax was the favoured weapon, carried at all times, as it is both practical and highly effective in combat. Like the originals, this seax features a curvature in the blade, which makes it particularly well-suited to chopping and slashing. This beautifully patinated seax is crafted with an authentic pommel and a grip with traditional leather wrapping. It is dispatched including a scabbard and certificate of authenticity.
The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers and axes has been designed in collaboration with John Clements. John has unsurpassed knowledge of historical fencing and medieval and Renaissance fighting methods. All items are hand-forged by the forgery of Windlass Steelcrafts from high quality 1065 tempered carbon steel and are strong and resilient. The swords feature an extra wide full tang and all weapons are sharp and suitable for cutting tests.
Each model has been put through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle-tested weapons have a patinated finish which makes them appear even more authentic and historical. Each weapon is individually inspected at every step of the manufacturing process, and only after passing the inspection does it receive the blacksmith's mark on the blade. Each weapon is dispatched including a certificate, signed by all craftsmen who have worked on the weapon. Also included is a matching scabbard and, if applicable, a swordfrog.
