Product description
The dagger is slim, lightweight and quick, and makes a very effective weapon and tool. In medieval battles, the dagger was the weapon for close combat and was employed to finish off the enemy. Almost every soldier carried a dagger, for practical use as well as for attacking and defending. The Crecy dagger is a classic replica of medieval originals, named after the Battle of Crecy in 1346. Daggers of this kind were used during the Hundred Years War. The dagger has a beautifully shaped cross-guard and a luxurious grip wrapped with suede leather, and lies comfortably in the hand. The patinated finish of the steel lends the dagger an authentic look and permits the steel to be maintained with ease. It is dispatched including a scabbard with belt loop.
The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers and axes has been designed in collaboration with John Clements. John has unsurpassed knowledge of historical fencing and medieval and Renaissance fighting methods. All items are hand-forged by the forgery of Windlass Steelcrafts from high quality 1065 tempered carbon steel and are strong and resilient. The swords have an extra wide full tang and all weapons are sharp and well-suited to cutting tests.
Each model has been put through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle-tested weapons carry a patinated finish which makes them appear all the more authentic and historical. Each weapon is individually inspected at every step of the manufacturing process, and only after passing inspection does it receive the blacksmith's mark on the blade. Each weapon is dispatched including a certificate, signed by all craftsmen who have worked on the weapon. Also included is a matching scabbard and, if applicable, a swordfrog.
