In the early 14th century, kettle hats like this one with sloping brims emerged. Advances in metalworking made it cheaper to produce kettle hats from a single piece. The brim of the kettle hat became more sloped, permitting it to deflect projectiles from above. This reduced the impact on both the helmet and the head. The helmet was so effective that even aristocrats wore it. The brim provided protection against downward blows and projectiles. The helmet offers an excellent field of vision, good hearing, and optimal protection.

The maximum internal circumference of this kettle hat is 68 cm, excluding the helmet liner. The helmet is supplied with a liner and chin strap. Should you wish to wear additional padded lining, measure your head circumference whilst wearing it. The padded liner already attached inside the helmet is usually sufficient. To create more space inside the helmet, the liner may be removed.
