This brooch is based on an English pilgrim sign in the shape of a lily, dating from the late 15th century and originating from Walsingham, England's most important place of pilgrimage for Saint Mary. The original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Performed in bronze, with a diameter of 2.7 cm, exactly like the historic original. There is a sturdy needle on the back with which you can close the neck of medieval clothing.

The lily has been a royal symbol since the Merovingian king Clovis I and in the Middle Ages also stood for purity and the Holy Trinity. An attractive addition to your equipment for medieval reenactment.
