Product description
Laces such as these were employed for a variety of purposes during the Middle Ages, especially the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. These laces were used to attach armour parts to the gambeson or acketon or mail parts. With laces like these, the armour remained firmly in place during battle.
Such laces were also used for clothing and shoes. For example, chausses could be attached to braies. Good laces such as these were also always particularly handy for women's clothing, for example when fastening up a garment.
The ends of the laces, the aglets, are crafted from brass. These are exact replicas of medieval originals. The laces come in a set of 5 and are extra long: 150 cm.
