Product description
The sword is a replica of an original from the second half of the 13th century. The original is now part of the collection of the Metropolitan Museum, New York. A comparable original is the sword of Sancho IV of Castile. Swords of this type were crafted to be more pointed than their predecessors, which permitted them to be employed for stabbing in addition to cutting. The blade is constructed from 9260 carbon steel, tempered to a hardness of 50–55 HRC. The tang construction runs through the entire grip, and the pommel is peened onto the tang. The grip is wooden and wrapped in leather. The sword is supplied with a leather scabbard.
