Knives of this type were employed in the late Middle Ages for, amongst other purposes, the cutting of meat at dinner. The point features a small notch, by means of which the knife may also serve as a kind of fork. The knife is constructed from a solid horn grip, partly wrapped with brass thread to permit a more secure hold. The included sheath is crafted from leather-covered wood and fitted with a steel ring to attach it to the belt.
The length of the knife is 24.5 cm, with a blade of 13.5 cm, and it weighs 150 grams.
