Product description
A fine main gauche by Windlass Steelcraft, based on historical daggers. The main gauche is a left-handed dagger that musketeers employed alongside the rapier for a two-handed fighting style. This main gauche features several notches to block the opponent's blade, whilst the basket protects the hand from the enemy's weapons. Musketeers wore the main gauche at the back so it could be drawn quickly when needed. The basket of this main gauche is decorated with an engraved cross, and the piece is supplied complete with a leather scabbard. The semi-sharp tempered blade is constructed from 1055 carbon steel with a hardness of 48 HRC. Well-suited to wall decoration, reenactment, and Three Musketeers cosplay. The blade may also be utilised for reenactment battles and as a battle-ready dagger for Historical European Martial Arts.
