Product description
The pauldrons are crafted in the style of the mid-14th century, and would have been worn over a mail hauberk to provide additional shoulder protection for the knights and men-at-arms of the Hundred Years War between France and Britain. The armours of this period were not full plate designs like the styles of the 15th century; instead, the plate armour pieces were intended to be worn over a full hauberk and provide additional protection for the front of the chest and the arms. The pauldrons have a steel thickness of 1.6 mm, making them well-suited to medieval reenactment. They come with arming points to permit easy attachment to an arming doublet or chainmail, with leather cord or aiglet laces.
