Product description
The scallop shell has long been the hallmark of the pilgrim. Those who undertook the long journey in the Middle Ages to the grave of St. James the Greater in Santiago de Compostela wore such a shell as proof and as a protective symbol on clothing or hat. This pilgrim badge brings that familiar symbol back to life.
The badge is cast in lead-free tin and comes with a loose pin and clasp, so you can easily attach it to a cloak, bag or hat. The relief of the ribbed shell is finely worked and gives the whole an authentic, medieval appearance.
A fine choice for re-enactors and LARP players portraying a pilgrim, but also as a small and meaningful keepsake for anyone with a connection to the Camino.
