This miniature ax is a detailed replica of one amulet from the late Viking Age, based on an 11th-century find from the area around Bergen in Hordaland, Norway. The so-called 'axe of Perun' was mainly used by West Slavs and Russians during the Viking Age. amulet worn as an attribute of the Slavic supreme god Perun.

Circle eye decorations and zigzag lines are characteristic of this type of Slavic axe-amulet and are interpreted as a symbol for sun and lightning. Archaeologically, this specimen is classified as type 1 according to Makarov, which occurs in large numbers in Slavic finds and was mainly distributed along the rivers Daugava in Latvia and Dnieper in Ukraine, with occasional finds as far away as Gotland and Norway.

Perun was god of thunder, thunder and lightning, with the ax as an attribute next to the oak and the lily — similar in function to the North Germanic Thor. An authentic one amulet for those who want to portray Slavic or Viking culture.
