Product description
During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, women wore an underskirt beneath the dress. The underskirt or petticoat provided extra warmth to the legs whilst also giving the dress additional volume and a pleasing silhouette, with an edge that protruded beneath the main fabric.
The petticoat is crafted from 100% fine cotton and features ruffles on the lower skirt section. These cause the garment to fall in folds, lending additional volume to whatever is worn over it. The skirt is fitted with an elasticated waistband so that it is comfortable to wear.
