Product description
Step back into the 17th century with this pikeman's cuirass. Cuirasses like this were worn by pikemen, who in dense formations — together with musketeers — formed the core of the armies during the English Civil War. The influence of the late Greenwich style is clearly visible in it.
The cuirass has a dark, black finish and comes complete with tassets (thigh protectors). In this period, tassets were often widened further, so that they offered more protection to the upper legs and made heavy loose leg pieces unnecessary. Adjustable leather belts ensure a good fit.
A powerful choice for re-enactment, living history and collectors. The cuirass combines beautifully with a morion, cabasset or burgonet.
