Product description
The belt is based on originals that were worn by eighteenth-century buccaneers and Caribbean pirates. In Nassau, nowadays the capital of the Bahamas, the so-called Republic of Pirates existed from 1706 to 1718. This was a confederation of pirates with their own code of conduct, as a result of which they managed to cause considerable chaos in the trade of the West Indies. In 1718, Governor Woodes Rogers put an end to this. Crafted from strong cow leather, the belt features a handsome buckle with an antique finish.
