Product description
The Polish winged hussars were an elite cavalry unit of the Polish-Lithuanian Union, famous for their mobility on the battlefield and their striking appearance from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Their armor was both functional and decorative: it protected vital parts and at the same time showed the wealth and status of the rider. The pauldrons, an important part, protected shoulders and upper arms and were decorated with brass accents to show rank and status.
These pauldrons are made from steel, 16 gauge (1.6 mm), with multiple connected slats for freedom of movement and brass accents and rivets along the edges. Suitable for re-enactment and HEMA, Can be worn separately or combined with a gorget.
