Product description
A beautiful rapier by Windlass Steelcraft, based on an original rapier in the collection of the Royal Armouries in London. One of the most beautiful rapiers in the world! The rapier features a flamboyant basket richly decorated with birds and plant motifs. This strong basket protects the hand whilst sword fighting or fencing, and the cross-guard blocks the opponent's rapier. The heavy pommel provides excellent balance. The grip is wrapped with braided steel wire. The blade is etched on both sides with the text: CHRISTUS IMPERAT — meaning: Christ commands. This rapier is supplied with a leather scabbard. The semi-sharp tempered blade is forged from 1065 carbon steel and has a hardness of 48–52 HRC. A beautiful sword for display on the wall, and also particularly well-suited to 17th century reenactment and Three Musketeers Cosplay. Once the blade has been blunted, it serves as an excellent battle-ready rapier for sword fighting during reenactment battles and a fine training sword for fencing and Historical European Martial Arts.
