The plastic guard is well-suited to making or adjusting the Grosses Messer. Crafted from training waister components, it measures 16 cm wide and 9.7 cm deep, and weighs approximately 46 grams.
The guard is manufactured by Red Dragon Armouries and has been designed for training waisters. These plastic swords may be assembled by the user, permitting a choice of ideal balance and weight. The swords are intended for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
Red Dragon training swords and parts have been designed for Historical European Martial Arts. The training swords are constructed from plastics, with RVS components employed in some cases to increase the weight of the sword. The blades are constructed from plastic, though they are produced so as to achieve a flexibility and toughness similar to those of standard swords. As a result, they are more lifelike than wooden swords or even federschwerter. Our training swords consist of: blade, cross-guard or guard, grip, and pommel. Every model shares the same tang, so every part may be changed, allowing you to assemble your own perfect sword.
