The hat is based on various illustrations from the Codex Manesse. Hats of this kind were worn throughout Europe during the High Middle Ages.
The hat is well-suited to every worthy Renaissance gentleman, be it noble, merchant or scholar! It may be adjusted to the respective head size by means of a sewn-in band. It is therefore also well-suited to wear over a bonnet, and is consequently even more conspicuous amongst headgear.
