Product description
The retiarius was the gladiator who was modelled after a fisherman. Armed with a net, a trident, and a dagger, and armoured only with a galerus and a manica, the retiarius fought against the heavily armoured secutor. The trident was employed once the opponent had been entangled in the net.
The reconstruction is of a retiarius trident from around the year 0, crafted from a Roman relief as its source. Its length is 131 cm, its maximum width is 31 cm, and it has teeth of 23 cm. It is supplied with a wooden shaft and weighs 1.9 kg.
