Product description
This replica of an Angel coin from Richard III is directly cast from an original specimen. The original Angel was struck between July 1483 and June 1484 and depicts the archangel Michael slaying the dragon, with a ship bearing the royal coat of arms on the reverse.
Richard III was born on 2 October 1452 and crowned in 1483. He fell in 1485 at Bosworth Field and was thus the last English king to die on the battlefield. In 2013, his remains were discovered during excavations at Greyfriars, Leicester.
The coins is cast and gilded for a warm gold lustre. A special piece for enthusiasts of the Wars of the Roses, for collectors or as a gift for those who love English history.
