The ring belt is a universal belt that was employed from the early Middle Ages to the late Middle Ages. Wearing a belt was essential during this period because of the loose fit of garments. By means of a belt, ladies and men could emphasise their shapes and create a tighter fit. Bags, knives and other utensils were also fastened to the belt so that everything was quickly to hand. The closure of the belt consists of a metal ring that is fixed in the leather with a brass pin. The belt is closed by passing the end through the ring and tying it. Simple and efficient! The ring belt is well-suited to all historical re-enactment, LARP and Cosplay costumes, as its simple design permits combination with any period ensemble.
