The ring belt is a universal belt that was employed from the early Middle Ages to the late Middle Ages. Wearing a belt was essential during this period owing to the loose fit of garments. By utilising a belt, ladies and men could emphasise their shapes and create a tighter fit. Bags, knives and other utensils were also fastened to the belt so that everything remained quickly to hand. The closure of the belt consists of a metal ring that is fixed in the leather with a brass pin. The belt may be closed by passing the end through the ring and tying it. Simple and efficient!
