The ring belt is a universal belt that was employed from the early Middle Ages to the late Middle Ages. Wearing a belt was essential during this period owing to the loose fit of garments. By means of a belt, ladies and men could emphasise their figures and achieve a closer fit. Bags, knives and other utensils were also fastened to the belt so that everything remained quickly to hand. The closure consists of a metal ring fixed into the leather with a brass pin. The belt may be closed by passing the end through the ring and tying it — easy and efficient. The ring belt is particularly well-suited to all historical re-enactment, LARP and Cosplay costumes, as its simple design permits it to be combined with any period outfit.
