Product description

The bowl is a replica of various pieces found throughout the Roman Empire. Bowls of this type were commonly used during the 1st to 4th century AD. They were produced in Southern Gaul by pottery workshops (officinae), during which a form of mass production was employed.

The bowl is crafted from red pottery (terra sigillata) and decorated with reliefs of flowers and Roman dancers, depicting a (religious) feast. Measuring 22 x 11 cm, it is produced entirely by hand following traditional techniques.
