Roman military diploma Weißenburger

Product description

The diploma is a replica of an original from 107 AD excavated in Weißenburger, Bavaria.

The coveted military diploma serves as proof that the owner has acquired Roman citizenship, having done so by serving in the Roman army for a period of usually 25 years.

The military diploma bears the name of the emperor under whom the person served, followed by the legion in which he served and the commander. Subsequently, it sets out the acknowledgement of Roman citizenship for the owner of the diploma and his family. Diplomas were originally crafted from bronze.

This replica is constructed from plaster alabaster. It measures 16 x 12.5 cm and features a hook on the reverse for hanging it upon a wall.
