Product description
The manica is a piece of armour for the arm, employed by gladiators and legionaries alike. As little money was available to spend on such equipment, materials such as linen, leather, chain pieces, and residual steel plates were predominantly utilised. Within the Roman army, such pieces could even be forged in the field during emergencies. This manica is constructed from higher-quality steel than the originals and comprises overlapping steel plates. The manica protects the arm from the shoulder to the hand. It is fitted with an additional steel protection plate for the hand and a leather interior for added wearing comfort. The manica has four leather straps and a ring, permitting it to be fastened securely to the arm and armour. The straps are adjustable in size. A fine replica well-suited to Roman re-enactment & gladiatorial display.
