The Viking buckle is a replica of a Rusvik buckle from the 10th–11th century from Novgorod, Russia. Similar buckles were worn predominantly by the Vikings of the Baltic Sea area. This region was home to several Viking strongholds, amongst which Birka is the most well known, owing to a series of extensive archaeological excavations and documentation.
