Product description
Scale armour of this type was employed across the period spanning classical antiquity through to the 15th century. It was worn by Germanic horsemen serving as Roman auxiliae, as well as by the Byzantine cataphracts — the heavily armoured cavalry of the Byzantine Empire. Scale armour has also been discovered in the Viking city of Birka and on Gotland.
